Thank you to everyone who participated in the March 10, 2022 live listening sessions. It was a blessing to be able to come together to reflect, share and listen to one another. Notes from the sessions will now be reviewed, summarized, and sent to the Diocese of San Jose. The Diocese will then send a formal report to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, who will, in turn, send a report to the Vatican.
The sessions began with prayer. Then small groups were formed to reflect on the following questions:
Firstly, we were asked to come together to share our joys, hopes, griefs, and anxieties with each other. We are called to listen to each other, encourage each other in holiness, and understand what the Holy Spirit is calling us to become.
What we shared in the listening sessions will be compiled (anonymously) and sent to a diocesan commission that will compile what was said and send a report to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. These diocesan reports will then be sent to the Vatican and used in the October 2023 Synod of bishops from around the world.
