Enrich your Lent!
Begin this Tuesday evening
with a celebration of Evening Prayer.
Combining the traditional texts of Psalms, readings, and prayers with contemplative Celtic harp music, this celebration is sure to be a boost for your week.
Evening Prayer (also known as Vespers) is the most commonly celebrated part of the Liturgy of the Hours which together with the Mass, constitutes the official public prayer life of the Church. It is celebrated communally and privately by most Religious orders, as well as by lay people.
The Liturgy of the Hours (also knows as the Divine Office, or Work of God, and often referred to as the Breviary), is the official set of prayers "marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer".
It consists primarily of Psalms supplemented by hymns, readings and other prayers and antiphons. The addition of Celtic harp music makes this evening a special blessing.
