Faith Formation Program Overview
As a Catholic community, we are obligated to provide our children with opportunities for on-going training and enrichment in the Catholic tradition. A lifetime journey that continues to enrich, nourish and guide us in our Catholic Christian heritage from childhood through adolescence and adulthood.
Baptism
Our Baptism program welcomes infants and young children into the Catholic Church and is the first step on the journey of ongoing faith formation.
Preschool: (age 31/2 & Up) - Grade 1
Our Pre-school Program, Playways to God is for children ages 3 years 6 months through kindergarten and is offered between our two masses from 10:00 am until 10:45 am.
Elementary: Grades 2-5
Our Sunday Elementary Program is a scripture based catechetical program for grades 1-5. We offer this Sunday program between our two masses from 10:00 am until 10:45 am. This program will focus on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and the traditions of the Catholic Church. With a catechist in a small group session children will learn to listen, talk and engage with their faith in their everyday lives and our church community.
Christian Initiation of Children
We offer a Christian Initiation of Children process for children who are not baptized or have not been catechized within a community.
EDGE Junior High: Grades 6-8
Our middle school program for children in grades 6-8, meets on Sunday nights from
6:00 pm – 7:15 pm. This scripture based program includes food, sports, social time, large group activities, small group faith sharing, outreach projects and prayer.
The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
We have a family centered sacrament program for youth preparing for Reconciliation and Eucharist. Youth enrolled in a sacramental preparation program must also be enrolled in a weekly catechetical program or as a student of St. Mary’s School.
