St. Mary's Parish has a long history of reaching out to help others beyond our boundaries. The parish St. Vincent de Paul Conference was established in 1950. Charity projects such as the Christmas Giving Tree and Pack-A-Back, are but a few of the programs that were added to the parish Community Ministry Outreach in the ensuing decades. By the 1990's we were engaged in direct service at Sacred Heart Community Services and in ministering to our local homeless in conjunction with St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
Just prior to the new milenium the parish looked to define and broaden their scope on charity, outreach and social justice. We sought to engage in good works of both charity and justice.
Today, we find that our communal energies extend in support of three major categories of social justice work: Outside Organizations, Sister Parish Relationships, and Parish Projects.
