The season of Lent allows us the time for reflection and renewal as we prepare to celebrate the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We give thanks to God for the bountiful gifts we share as a parish community. During this time, let us reflect on the divine revelation of God’s unconditional love for all people.
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. He calls us to turn away from sin—to believe in the good news. As we heed his word, we seek lasting peace anchored in God’s justice and mercy. In our search may we be open to the call of generous almsgiving, purposeful fasting, and a more regular prayer life in solidarity with Christians throughout the world.
During this season I invite you to celebrate the various liturgies and devotions we offer at
St. Mary’s. Let us pray for one another and especially those that seek full membership in the Roman Catholic Church this Easter Vigil.
The Catechumens and Candidates are preparing by seeking conversion of heart, mind, and soul. May their witness and conviction cause us to be mindful of our own baptism, the promises we renew at Easter, and our journey of faith as we walk with Jesus on the road to everlasting life.
As we near the high holy days of the Triduum, let us rejoice that God’s Kingdom is in our midst, celebrate the events that have made us children of God, and remain as brothers and sisters in Christ.
